Police probing robbery at business on Friday

Suspects described as 2 men in black hoodies, gloves, face masksĀ 

Kennett Square police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred 11:30 a.m. Friday at a business located in the 200 block of South Willow Street.

The suspects were described as a thinly built black male, about 5-foot-8, wearing a black hoodie and a black mask covering all but his eyes and a red beanie, hat and gloves; and a white Hispanic male with thin build, about 5-foot-6, wearing a black hoodie and a black and white bandana and gloves who spoke with an accent, police said.

Also under investigation is a vehicle theft reported sometime between 12 p.m. on March 10 and 3:45 p.m. on March 11; a green 1997 Ford F150 with grey stripes on both doors, bearing Pa. registration ZCR8705, which had been left unlocked with keys inside, was stolen from Harvey Circle, police said.

Police said they cited Jay Smyth, 41, Landenberg, for harassment following an incident that occurred on March 11 at 7:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Birch Street, police said.

Sometime between 6:30 p.m. on March 11 and 1:11 a.m. on March 12, police said someone spray-painted graffiti on a building at South Willow Street and Apple Alley, police said. An investigation is continuing.

Police are also following up on a reported burglary, which occurred between 6:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on March 14 at a residence in the 400 block of East Maple Alley. Police said cash, jewelry, and an iPod were taken.

Baltazar Diaz-Avalos, 20, of Kennett Square, was arrested for driving under the influence on March 16 at 11:30 p.m. following a traffic accident at South Broad and East Mulberry Streets, police said.
