15-year-old victim said one of 3 male assailants tried to stab him

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKennett Square police are investigating an alleged assault that reportedly occurred on March 19 in the borough.

Police said the 15-year-old male victim told police about the attack on March 21. He said it occurred between 8 and 9 p.m. on Sycamore Alley, between Juniper and Mulberry Streets, police said.  The assailants, one of whom tried to stab the victim with a knife, were described as three unknown males wearing baggy, hooded sweatshirts with black bandanas covering their faces.

Juan Lopez-Leon, 27, Coatesville, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop in the 400 block of West South Street on March 17 at 1:46 a.m., police said.

 Larry C. Leto, 56, of Chadds Ford, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic accident in the 300 block of South Broad Street on March 21 at 7: 59 p.m.  He was arraigned at the Avondale District Court, unable to post the $25,000 cash bail, and remanded to Chester County Prison, police said.

Kennett Square police cited Joaquin Reynoso-Leyva, 56, of Kennett Square, for public drunkenness on March 24 at 1:18 a.m. in the 200 block of North Union Street, police said, adding that he was released at his residence.

Police are investigating a report of attempted burglary, which allegedly occurred sometime overnight on March 18. Police said someone attempted to break into a business located in the 600 block of West South Street.
