Theft, burglary, criminal mischief being probed

Borough police said separate investigations prompted during past two weeks

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKennett Square police said they are investigating a reported theft, burglary, and an incident of criminal mischief, all of which occurred during the past two weeks.

The theft occurred sometime between March 21 at 4 p.m. and March 24 at 2:30 p.m.; police said prescription medication was stolen from a residence in the 300 block of Juniper Street.

The burglary took place sometime between March 24 at 1 p.m. and March 26 at 3 p.m. at a home in the 800 block of Park Avenue; the stolen items were tires and statues, police said.

Sometime overnight on March 29, a residence in the 100 block of Scarlett Avenue was egged, police said.

Dennis Cornette, 43, of Landenberg, was detained for a bench warrant after a traffic stop on March 30 at 10 p.m. in the 700 block of West State Street, police said, adding that Cornette was transported to Chester County Prison.
