Police: Cellphones, cash, medication among stolen items
Several recent thefts and burglaries are under investigation, Kennett Square police said.
They include the theft of a cellphone April 1 sometime between 5 and 9 p.m. from a business in the 100 block of Race Street, and a registration sticker stolen sometime between Jan. 8 and April 3 from a vehicle parked in the 500 block of South Broad Street, police said.
Police said a 13-year-old male from Kennett Square was arrested for the theft of a cellphone on April 2 between 7 and 9 p.m. from a business located in the 100 block of Race Street. The teen was referred to juvenile authorities, police said.
Artemio Ricardo-Martinez, 23, of Kennett Square, was arrested for driving under the influence following an accident in the 600 block of South Broad Street on April 3 at 8:35 p.m., police said.
Police are investigating two reports of burglary. One occurred between 7:10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on April 5 at a residence in the 300 block of Birch Street, where a resident came home to find the door jamb broken and cash stolen, police said. The second one, which resulted in the theft of prescription medication from a residence in the 500 block of Kenview Avenue, happened sometime between April 1 at 10 a.m. and April 6 at 3:36 p.m., police said.
An incident of criminal mischief is also under investigation, police said, adding that sometime between March 4 and April 6, a window of a business in the 400 block of West State Street was shot with BBs, police said.
