State police from the Avondale barracks  said a Hispanic male in his early 20s attempted to abduct a teen who had just gotten off a school bus on Rt. 41 in Avondale a little after 3 p.m. on Friday.

The 14-year-old girl said the man approached her from behind, grabbed her wrist, and put his hand over her mouth, police said. She was able to break free after she kicked and punched the man, who fled on foot, police said. The suspect is described at being 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8 with an average build; he was wearing a black and gray striped shirt and jeans, police said.

State police said they are investigating a report that a male juvenile from Toughkenamon indecently assaulted a female juvenile on Wednesday at 1:54 p.m. at the Avon Grove Charter School in London Grove Township.

Also under investigation is a reported theft of a white 2004 box trailer, police said. The owner said the trailer was removed from his property in the 100 block of Main Street in New Garden Township on Saturday sometime between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m., police said.
