Linwood resident initially stopped for traffic violation in Kennett Square

Image 2A traffic stop at Wayne and Worrall Avenues on May 12 at 7:45 p.m. led to the arrest of a New Jersey man, Kennett Square Police said.  Viktor Mazur, 20, of Linwood, N.J., was determined to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance, police said. Mazur was arraigned by the on-call magisterial district judge and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said.

Police said they are investigating a theft of scaffolding and an extension ladder that reportedly occurred sometime between March 25 and May 6 from a business located in the 100 block of South Walnut Street.

A 13-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, both from Kennett Square, were cited for curfew violation on May 12 at 12:46 a.m. in the 100 block of East Cypress Street, police said. They were not identified because they are juveniles, police said.

Two 17-year-old males from Kennett Square received citations for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on May 17 at 11 a.m. in the 100 block of East South Street, police said.

State police from the Avondale barracks said they investigated “numerous retail thefts” committed at T.J. Maxx on U.S. 1 in East Marlborough Township. After viewing video surveillance, police said they charged three people: Matthew Ryan Wilkinson, 21, of West Grove; Francis Rivera-Perez, 23, of Kennett Square; and Hector Morales, 26, of Avondale.

Alfonso Gasca-Torres, 26, of Kennett Square, was arrested for driving under the influence on May 16 at 10:41 p.m. after a traffic stop at Rt. 41 and Limestone Road in New Garden Township, state police said.
