Public invited to free event Saturday at high school
Food, games, a chance to dunk school officials and an opportunity to recognize area education achievements will converge Saturday in Kennett Square.
The community is invited to the Third Annual Together Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kennett High School stadium. The event, a district-wide celebration for the students, families, staff, and nonprofit organizations that support the Kennett Consolidated School District, is sponsored by Together in Education, a district advocacy group.
Admission is free, and each student will receive tickets to use on activities, such as carnival-style games, moon bounces, and art lessons. A dunk tank will feature Superintendent Barry Tomasetti and other school officials, and raffle prizes and a high-school soccer tournament will add to the entertainment.
Additional tickets as well as food from local vendors such as the Kennett Athletic Booster Club, El Ranchero, 2FatGuys, Sweets by Samantha, and La Michoacana will be available for purchase.
Last year, more than 1,400 people attended and organizers are hoping for an even better turnout this time. In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday.
