The monthly Art Stroll highlights local talent

Kennett Square’s monthly Art Stroll celebrates the local art scene as it is showcased in the galleries, shops, and restaurants throughout the town. Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to stroll the tree-lined streets and browse the many businesses that stay open late.

A sampling of the events planned for Friday, June 7th include the following.

Vignette at 123 East State Street shares the latest abstract art series by Wilmington artist Craig Hable.

The Longwood Art Gallery at 200 East State Street will hold an artist reception and an opening exhibit of the original oils by Joan Hollander.

Flickerwood Wine Tasting Room at 116 West State Street features the works of photographer Jen Zdniak and will have live music by John & Charitty.

Kennett Design at 117 West State Street invites visitors to stay awhile, viewing the artwork of Mignon Gravett and selecting one of over 40 paintings to reproduce during one of their two hour social art sessions.

Mala Galleria at 206 East State Street will be exhibiting the oil paintings of Helena Stockar and also be hosts to a book signing of author Catherine Quillman’s “100 Artists of the Brandywine Valley,” a comprehensive guide to the artistic history of our area.

The Centre for Vibrant Living at 331 East State Street presents the one-of-a-kind artwork of Ellen Cananzaro and Linda Celestian, plus music by Michelle and Mark Sillaman of “DelRain.”

The Kennett Square Farmers Market runs from 2 – 6 pm every Friday afternoon and on First Friday there will be live music by “I Am Love” and “Vita and the Woolf.”  The bands will move indoors to the American Legion Building following the close of the market.

Whether you are attending the Paul Stooky and Peter Yarrow concert at Longwood Gardens this Friday evening or have reservations for dinner at one of our area’s many wonderful restaurants, take time to stroll through town either before or after to discover all that Kennett Square has to offer.
