Kacie’s Cause team will attend Town Hall Meeting in Oxford

Andy Rumford, a Kennett Square resident whose 23-year-old daughter, Kacie Erin Rumford, died of a heroin overdose in March, will take his crusade to educate the public about the scourge of this widely available drug to the southern end of Chester County.
After a well-attended brainstorming session that Rumford held last month at the Longwood Fire Company, he said he was delighted to receive an invitation from Oxford Mayor Geoff Henry to speak at an Oxford Town Hall meeting on June 19 at the Oxford Presbyterian Church.
A web site Rumford created called Kacie’s Cause includes information that Rumford hopes will save lives while continuing his daughter’s commitment to helping others. He and other members of the Kacie’s Cause team will take their message to Oxford, stressing the importance of working together to confront a heroin epidemic responsible for over 36,500 deaths a year nationwide that has now reached the local community.
