Cast iron double basin stolen from borough backyard
Sometime between 1 and 3 p.m. on June 6, a cast iron double sink was stolen from the backyard of a residence in the 200 block of South Union Street, Kennett Square police said, adding that an investigation is continuing.
Walter Maldonado-Carrillo, 19, of Kennett Square was cited for public drunkenness and released at his residence on June 2 at 9:03 p.m. in the 100 block of South Broad Street, police said.
Everardo Galan-Garcia, 30, of Kennett Square was arrested for simple assault and harassment following an incident on June 4 at 3:57 a.m. in the 500 block of South Broad Street, police said. Galan-Garcia was arraigned at Kennett district court and released on $5,000 unsecured bail, police said.
A traffic accident on June 4 at 10:43 p.m. in the 400 block of East South Street led to a drunken-driving arrest, police said. Eligio Zavala-Romero, 44, of Kennett Square, was determined to be driving under the influence and released at his residence pending a summons from district court, police said.
Colleen Gartner, 42, of Kennett Square, was cited for violating the borough’s pet ordinance after her dog reportedly chased several people in the area of Southview and Hornblende Avenues on June 4 at 8:47 p.m., police said.
A resident of the 400 block of West Sickle Street reported receiving a phone call on June 7 at 10:35 a.m. from a male who stated he was a police officer in the Dominican Republic and that he had the resident’s granddaughter in custody and need $1,700 wired there to release her, police said. After making contact with the granddaughter, who said she had never been to the Dominican Republic, the resident called police, who advised that that this is a common scam. An investigation is continuing, police said.
