Borough police: Three firearms stolen in burglary

Investigators said one Glock  handgun has been recovered

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKennett Square Police are investigating a burglary that allegedly occurred at a residence in the 700 block of Hornblende Avenue between 7 p.m. on June 14 and 6 a.m. on June 15. Taken in the burglary were two Glock handguns, one Smith and Wesson revolver, cash, jewelry, and checkbooks, police said.  Acting on information received during the investigation, which Is continuing, police recovered one of the Glock handguns on Sunday, police said.

Police are also investigating a hit-and-run accident that occurred on June 9 at 3:28 p.m. at West Cypress and Meredith Streets.  The striking vehicle, described as a red Chevrolet Cavalier bearing Pennsylvania registration FGE8654, left the scene, police said.

Felipe Diego-Quintana, 37, of Kennett Square, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop in the 400 block of East South Street on June 9 at 8:26 p.m., police said. He was released at his residence pending a summons from district court, police said.

On June 10, police reported the arrest of Tammy Johnson, 27, of Kennett Square, for 23 counts of theft by deception, two counts of harassment, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  She was arraigned and taken to Chester County Prison when she was unable to post 10 percent of her $15,000 bail, police said.

Police are investigating a report of criminal mischief that occurred sometime overnight on June 11 when the tires on a vehicle parked in the 400 block of South Broad Street were punctured, police said.

Martin Zurita-Lara, 24, of Kennett Square, was arrested for simple assault and harassment following an incident that occurred in the 700 block of Lafayette Street on June 14 at 7:15 p.m., police said.  Zurita-Lara was arraigned, unable to post the $15,000 cash bail, and transported to Chester County Prison, police said.

Kennett Square police said they arrested Albert Rochester, 57, of Kennett Square, for drunken-driving following a traffic stop on June 15 at 9 p.m. in the 200 block of South Broad Street.  He was released pending a summons from district court, police said.
