Back-to-back hit-and-runs lead to arrest

Police said borough man was driving under the influence when he caused them

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERATwo hit-and-run accidents in the Borough of Kennett Square on June 24 about 4 p.m. led to the arrest of Jorge Zavala-Silva, 35, of Kennett Square, police said. Zavala-Silva was determined to be driving under the influence when he was involved in the two crashes, one in the 100 block of East State Street and one at West State Street and Mill Road, police said. Zavala-Silva was released to a relative pending a summons from district court, police said.

On June 22 at 10:31 p.m., Kennett Square police cited Marcos Hernandez, 36, of Kennett Square, for disorderly conduct; David Medley, 36, West Grove, for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness; and a 16-year-old West Grove male for underage drinking, police said. The citations stemmed from an incident that occurred in the 700 block of Taylor Street, police said, adding that the juvenile was released to a relative.

On June 26, Kennett Square police charged Pedro Herrera-Armendares, 35, of Kennett Square, with providing false identification to law enforcement during an incident that occurred on June 4 at 3:57 a.m. in the 500 block of South Broad Street, police said.

Kennett Square police arrested Fernando Fermin-Miranda, 22, and Andres Velazquez-Miranda, 33, both of Kennett Square, for simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred in the 300 block of East Linden Street on June 28 at 10:20 p.m., police said.
