Kennett Square police accuse him of offenses that include assault

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAIn hindsight, a 44-year-old West Chester resident may wish he hadn’t visited Kennett Square on July 5 at 8:37 p.m. Police said an incident in the 200 block of East State Street led to charges against Jeffrey Hallman that include simple assault, possessing instruments of crime, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, harassment, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Police said Hallman was released to a relative to await a summons.

On June 30 at 4:29 p. in the 500 block of Center Street, Kennett Square police said they detained Fransico De La Luz-Mendoza, 34, of Kennett Square, for an outstanding warrant.  De La Luz-Mendoza was released to constables for transport to Chester County Prison, police said.

An investigation is continuing into the reported theft sometime overnight on June 27 in front of a residence located in the 100 block of North Broad Street of a purse and a bag, police said. Inside were an iPod, jewelry, cash, prescription medication and clothes, police said.

On July 1, police said they filed bad-check charges against Diane Bonifacino, 36, of Kennett Square, for an incident that occurred on May 9 in the 400 block of East State Street.

Alejandro Lopez, 42, of Kennett Square, was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic accident at South Union and East Cedar Streets on July 1 at 1:35 p.m., police said. Lopez was released at his residence pending a summons from district court.

Police said a criminal-mischief report is under investigation. Police said sometime between 6 and 10:54 p.m. on July 6, the front passenger side window of a vehicle parked in the 200 block of South Broad Street was cracked.
