Events offer opportunity for teens to earn community-service credits
The Kennett Area Senior Center has several events coming up later this summer for which they need volunteer help, an opportunity for area teens to earn community-service credits.
Annual Cuisine Dinner at the Red Clay Room
Sunday Aug. 18, 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hours can be for the entire event or less.
We are seeking friendly and outgoing people to greet guests, serve meals and assist with silent auction at our annual fund raising dinner.
Sunday Dinner with Friends
July 21, 3 to 4 p.m.
Aug. 25, 3 to 4 p.m.
We need volunteers to help at the end of the dinner, to put up chairs and tables, sweep the floor and remove the trash.
Lawn Care
Tuesdays and Thursdays after 3 p.m. for mowing the lawn
Monday through Friday anytime during the day for weeding and general maintenance of the Senior Center’s landscape
Volunteer Coordinator Assistant
Weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We need an assistant to help make phone calls, schedule appointments, and general secretarial tasks.
Assisted Senior Program
Weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers would work with seniors to socialize, plan events, and play games.
Wednesday is the day we need the most help.
Neighbors in Action Program
Matches volunteers up with members who need assistance with various services such as transportation, light housekeeping, minor home repairs, yard work, and companionship.
