Kennett Township owner said he left keys in ignition

Image 2State police from the Avondale barracks are investigating the theft of a motor vehicle on Sunday from the 200 block of Scarlett Road in Kennett Township. Police said the vehicle, which was stolen from a residence and had the keys in the ignition, was subsequently involved in a hit-and-run crash about a half-mile away.

Michael S. O’Neill, 45, of Downingtown, was cited for following too closely after a crash on Kennett Pike, north of Hillendale Road, on Monday at 7:47 a.m., state police said. O’Neill was traveling southbound in a 2000 Honda Accord when he rear-ended a 2006 Honda Civic, state police said, adding that no one was injured.

Keith A. Blevins, 51, of Avondale, was arrested for driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Friday at 5:31 p.m. at the intersection of East Sherry Lane and Roberts Way in London Grove Township, state police said.

A 16-year-old male from Landenberg operating a Kia Sedona failed to negotiate a turn from Baltimore Pike onto Rt. 41 in Avondale on Sept. 13 at 10:02 p.m., state police said. The teen, who was not identified because of his age, swerved into the opposing lane of travel and struck a red Ford Ranger stopped for a red light, police said. Both drivers were taken to Christiana Hospital for treatment, state police said.

A Toughkenamon resident was the victim of vehicle vandalism recently, state police said. Sometime between 5 p.m. on Sept. 18 and 7:31 a.m. on Sept. 19, the victim found that someone had damaged the paint on his vehicle, which had been parked in a lot in the 700 block of Rosedale Road in Kennett Township, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to contact the barracks at 610-268-2022.

An unknown driver fled after striking a mailbox in the 700 block of Woodward Road in Kennett Township on Friday at 10:50 a.m., state police said.

On Sept. 6 at 11:13 p.m., Kennett Square Police cited Fidelio Hernandez-Hernandez, 20, of Kennett Square, for public drunkenness and underage drinking in the 400 block of Birch Street, borough police said.

Borough police cited Alejandra Lemus, 19, of Oxford, for harassment and disorderly conduct and Vivian Lemus, 29, of Kennett Square, for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred on Sept. 7 at 8:41 p.m. in the 600 block of South Broad Street, police said.  Simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct charges were also filed against Marie Lemus, 21, of Oxford, police said.

Isidro Zavala-Romero, 19, of Kennett Square, received a citation for underage drinking in the 200 block of Scarlett Avenue on Sept. 8 at 3:14 a.m., Kennett Square Police said.

On Sept. 8 at 11 a.m., Kennett Square Police said they arrested Angel Ramirez-Torres, 30, of Wilmington, De., for simple assault, criminal mischief and harassment for an incident that occurred in the 400 block of East Maple Alley.

On Sept. 9, Kennett Square Police received a report that an iPhone was stolen on Sept. 7 at 5:45 p.m. in the 100 block of North Walnut Street, police said, adding that an investigation is continuing.

Kennett Square Police cited Jose Rodriguez, 42, of Kennett Square, for harassment stemming from an incident that occurred in the 200 block of South Union Street on Sept. 10 at 3 p.m., borough police said.

Jose Laureano-Zamudio, 53, of Toughkenamon, was cited for public drunkenness on Sept. 13 at 12:11 a.m. in the 100 block of East Cedar Street, Kennett Square Police said.  Laureano-Zamudio was released at his residence, police said.

Kennett Square Police detained Lamont Winters, 44, for bench warrants on Sept. 13 at 2:36 p.m. in the 100 block of East South Street, police said, adding that Winters was released to a constable.
