KENNETT SQUARE — People are rediscovering The Flash and many are experiencing it for the first time — now more than a month since its reopening with a new mix of acts, refurbished venue and better food and if you haven’t yet, the coming weeks might just be the right time for you to see what all the excitement is about.

Great music performances are continuing on Friday and Saturday nights, with Open Mic every Sunday evening, Better Than Bacon improv comedy on Thursday every month, and special events throughout the coming weeks.  Special events will include family shows like the Halloween Matinee Show on Oct. 27 and the first annual Flash Auction on Nov. 29.

Organizers at The Flash say it is “heartening and inspiring that performers are giving back because they believe in The Flash.” A few examples:  The Melton Brothers donated the proceeds of their show that opened Act II of The Flash.  Chris Bruni and Dan Maye have also made donations.  Chip Powell, who is recording shows, donated his services for the Sept. 6 opening show.  While it is not the intention of The Flash to ask performers to donate any portion of their performances — such generosity inspires one reaction from The Flash staff: “Wow!”

Ticket sales, memberships, sponsorships and donations pay for all operating costs, but such generosity is a big help, they say.

After a great first six weeks, more excitement is to come in the new few weeks. Here are some examples:

Oct. 10, Better Than Bacon, Chester County’s newest improvisational comedy troupe. Every show is a brand new experience, and their fan base is really growing, which is why they are back for their third season at The Flash.

Friday Oct. 11, John Grecia Band. John Grecia Band has been a staple of the Philadelphia-area original music scene for years. The songs travel through modern rock, jazz, indie, reggae, progressive rock, and soul effortlessly.
