Department is moving into new, temporary facility at same address

IMG_0399The New Garden Township Police Department, which is relocating into a new, temporary modular facility at the same address, reports that the administration office phone (610-268-2907), fax (610-268-2886) and email are back in service.

Police said  no interruptions in patrol operations or responses to emergency or non-emergency incidents have occurred. Walk-in complaints are being redirected to the Township Building, located at 299 Starr Road, police said.

The business office and administration services will remain closed through the remainder of this week; plans to reopen are scheduled for Monday, Dec. 16 at 8 a.m., police said. Additionally, the weekly administrative reports and arrest blotter will  not be released.

The public is reminded to call the Chester County Department of Emergency Services at 610-268-3171 for non-emergency and 9-1-1 for emergencies and view the department’s online presence on the township web site or Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/pages/New-Garden-Township-Police-Department/692813727401074, police said, expressing thanks for the public’s understanding and apologizing for any inconvenience.

Township supervisors implemented the move in response to reports that the former modular building posed a health risk from mold. A decision on a permanent home for the department has not yet been made.
