To the Editor: Every election cycle legislators trot out statements that they are going to do something about property taxes, and as sure as spring follows winter, nothing gets done and that issue gets put away until the next election season.  It’s time to stop paying lip service to we, the taxpayers, and do something. Letter: GOP pension claims ring hollow

To The Editor, The claim made in the recent OP/ED that Southeast Pennsylvania’s GOP backed Corbett’s pension revamp rings hollow.  What the GOP fears is that Corbett is likely to be replaced by Tom Wolfe in the next election and some of them will go down with Corbett. Frankly, it will serve them right.  If the GOP had truly supported revising the pension system for the teachers union...

Letter: Kennett taxes too high

To The Editor: Kennett Township residents, our taxes are too high!  Our Township Supervisors, led by Allan Falcoff, claim our taxes are the 4th lowest of the surrounding Townships. Don’t be fooled. The Supervisors conveniently do not include the .5% Earned Income Tax (EIT), which dwarfs our Township property taxes, in their figures. The Township’s 2011 budget projects that property taxes...
