Her specialty began with textiles of all periods, then narrowed to folk art textiles and those of the 18<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0and early 19<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0centuries.\u00a0 Whitlock follows the \u201cgood, better, best\u201d principle and attempts to offer only items in the latter category, a CCHS news release said.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Jan Whitlock Textiles has sold to many private collectors, and has placed several items in museum collections; including Winterthur, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Old Sturbridge Village, Colonial Williamsburg, The Milwaukee Art Museum, and the DAR Museum. Whitlock has published several articles on textiles, including Embroidered Blankets and Baltimore Album Quilts<i>. American Sewn Rugs: Their History with Exceptional Examples\u00a0<\/i>is her latest publication, the release said.<\/p>\n<p>A preview party for the show will be held on Friday, April 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. The regular show hours are Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the release said.<\/p>\n<p>The Phelps School features accessibility, spaciousness, and natural light that will create the perfect setting for the vendors and all of their antique items. The theme of this year\u2019s event is \u201cRecreation, Hobbies and Leisurely Pursuits.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The show attracts over 2,000 visitors and collectors every year to view its variety of items and furniture.
