In an effort to facilitate the flood recovery process, the Chester County Department of Emergency Services (DES) will be distributing flood clean-up kits on Wednesday, May 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. in some of the hardest-hit areas.<\/p>\n

The kits will be passed out on a first-come, first-serve basis since availability is limited. Downingtown Borough Hall,\u00a04 W. Lancaster Ave.,\u00a0Downingtown, will have 50 kits to distribute; Modena Borough Hall, 5 Woodland Ave., Modena, will have 100; and Avondale Fire Company, 23 Firehouse Way, Avondale, will also have 100.<\/p>\n

The clean-up kits include a five-gallon bucket, gloves, cleaning solutions, scrub brush, trash bags, and dust masks, which are needed to clean up from the effects of flood waters.<\/p>\n

A flood resource guide, prepared by DES and the Chester County Health Department, contains information on a variety of topics, such as flooded private water supplies, sewage overflow recommendations, well disinfectant procedure, and mold remediation. Some of the information also appears in Spanish.
