{"id":12314,"date":"2014-06-09T15:25:32","date_gmt":"2014-06-09T19:25:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=12314"},"modified":"2014-06-09T15:25:32","modified_gmt":"2014-06-09T19:25:32","slug":"new-garden-police-investigate-church-graffiti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=12314","title":{"rendered":"New Garden police investigate church graffiti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/PoliceBlotter-300x256.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-805022\" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" alt=\"PoliceBlotter\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/PoliceBlotter-300x256.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"256\" \/><\/a>NEW GARDEN \u2014 Township police are looking for information about who defaced a township church some time last week and are asking for the public&#8217;s help in battling such acts in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Township Police are investigating an incident of graffiti in the 200 block of Penn Green Road in Landenberg Village, which occurred to the exterior of the United Methodist Church.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The suspect using what appears to be red spray paint inscribed two symbols, \u201c666\u201d and a Pentagram enclosed within a circle, police said. Additionally, the suspect inscribed two phrases, one of which indicates that the symbols are Satanic in nature. The damage was found by a grounds-keeper who was cutting the grass; the timeframe of the incident is approximately one-week. The police department is checking nearby surveillance video for potential evidence and talking with neighbors.<\/p>\n<p>Police did not release images of the incident: In an effort not to bestow fame on the perpetrator of this despicable and criminal act; it is the practice of the New Garden Township Police Department not to release photographs of the graffiti.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, police \u00a0recognizes our community\u2019s frustration, especially if they\u2019ve been victimized numerous times; the frustration leads to failing to report the incidents, surmising that a suspect will never be identified.\u00a0 The police department is asking the public to take the time and perform the following steps if they become a victim of graffiti vandalism:<\/p>\n<p>1. Immediately contact the police \u2014\u00a0the New Garden Police will create a written and visual report of damages, a photographic record (evidence) of damages and we can track whether or not it is gang-related.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n2. Timely removal of the graffiti vandalism \u2014\u00a0removal vigilance is the best step in preventing a reoccurrence, police said.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n3. Keep a record of repairs \u2014\u00a0if a suspect is later identified, these records will be used for restitution orders, police said.<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; line-height: 18px;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n4.
