Proceeds from Friday night&#8217;s event will assist the K-9 units for training and\u00a0equipment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Sheriff\u2019s Office is excited to once again present this great event. It gives us an\u00a0opportunity to show the citizens our beautiful canines and their handlers,&#8221; Welsh said. &#8220;Our K-9 Units and other\u00a0community outreach programs greatly benefit from this event. We greatly appreciate the support from our\u00a0many sponsors.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The basic cost of a dog, including training, is more than $15,0000. Once certified, both dogs and handlers\u00a0require continued training and recertification. A fully trained experienced K-9 team is valued at more\u00a0than $30,000.\u00a0There are seven K-9 teams in the Chester County Sheriff\u2019s Office. They provide narcotics, explosive and accelerant detection. They are also used for patrol, tracking, search, and tactical operations. The\u00a0Sheriff\u2019s Office K-9 division uses a proactive preventative approach to provide public safety and security\u00a0at large events.<\/p>\n<p>Those attending Friday night event will get a chance to meet the Chester County Sheriff\u2019s K-9 Unit and its extraordinary canines: Sabre, Leo, Yukon, Afra,\u00a0Buster, Jessie and Denise. In addition to great cars ranging from classic to modern muscle and motorcycles, there will be a night of fun including a DJ, food and drinks! The event is rain\u00a0or shine \u2014 although the current forecast is nearly perfect.<\/p>\n<p>Public admission is free and show vehicles are free.
