WEST CHESTER \u2014 Vacation homes, jewelry, golf packages and even hand-painted Tabasco insignia stools will be offered as auction items at The Hickman\u2019s 8th annual Art of Caring event on Friday, October 14, 2011, beginning at 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n

You won\u2019t want to miss The Hickman\u2019s 8th Annual Art of Caring event! The featured live auction will be one-of-a-kind 4-drawer end tables created by area artists. Also featured by dual auctioneers Bill Bunch and Lori Zytkowicz will be box tickets to Eagles and Flyers games, an exclusive Cape May Getaway, Golf outings at exclusive private courses and a wine basket featuring 11 bottles from Vermeil Wines of Napa Valley (owned by former Eagles coach Dick Vermeil).<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the annual Art of Caring event benefit the expansion of The Hickman, to provide additional affordable housing for seniors. The Hickman is located at 400 North Walnut Street, West Chester. The artists taking part in this year\u2019s show are Laura Barton, Evalyn Eckman, John Hannafin, Mitch Harper, Linda Lynch, Bradbury Mattes, Sherry McVickar, Super, Amory Stedman, Nancy Thompson, Dane Tilghman and Brett Walker.<\/p>\n

To complement the high quality of the live auction items, Art of Caring Committee members and staff work throughout the year to solicit unique auction items not found at other charity events. Hand crafted silver items by Don Pywell (whose work is sold at the Brandywine River Museum) are an annual treat. One lucky winner will get $300 worth of spring bulbs planted in their garden this fall by Flowers & More. Handmade pottery, paintings, private plane rides over Chester County and a coveted Tail Gate Spot at Radnor Hunt Races with a picnic basket to start the tailgate party are other unique treats.<\/p>\n

West Chester\u2019s own Delightful Desserts & Culinary Creations will cater a fall feast, accompanied by an open bar with choice wines, a variety of Victory Beers, and a specialty martini selection. All combined make this a must-attend event!<\/p>\n
