Attendees at last year’s Kennett Education Foundation Masquerade Ball had a scary good time. Tickets remain available for the event, which helps fund scholarships, grants and special projects in the Kennett Consolidated School District.<\/p><\/div>\n

KENNETT \u2014 The Kennett Education Foundation (KEF) Board of Directors and friends of KEF encourage the greater Kennett Community to come out and support two of its most popular events this October:\u00a0 The Second Annual Masquerade Ball <\/i>\u2013a glamorous, fun-filled evening that is a lively, entertaining mix of mystique, elegance and friendly faces and the popular Monster Mash Dash 5k<\/i> and Kids\u2019 Spooky Sprint.<\/i><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s Ball is Friday, Oct. 24, at the exclusive Oberod Estate,<\/b> conveniently located in beautiful Centreville, Delaware.\u00a0 Building upon last year\u2019s success, The Ball will again feature dining, dancing and open bar. \u00a0The Ball remains the official kick-off for KEF\u2019s \u201cMonster Mash 5k Dash\u201d and \u201cKids\u2019 Spooky Sprint\u201d weekend; while also being a significant source of funding for the Foundation\u2019s many important efforts. Guests are encouraged to wear formal attire and masks; and to invite friends to support this very special event.<\/p>\n

The Monster Mash Dash and Spooky Sprint are will be held Sunday, October 26th<\/sup> at Anson B. Nixon Park.\u00a0 Registration begins at 8AM followed by the 9AM Spooky Sprint and 9:30AM Dash, respectively.<\/p>\n

Since 2001, KEF has partnered with The\u00a0<\/a>Kennett Consolidated School District\u00a0to encourage innovative ideas, invest in programs that improve academic progress, promote family involvement and recognize the outstanding achievements of educators.\u00a0 KEF\u2019s core goal is to support the academic success of every child within the KCSD; and believes investing in children is an investment that strengthens the entire community.<\/p>\n

Funds raised by KEF are directed toward:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Grants for innovative classroom projects and extra-curricular activities not funded by the Kennett Consolidated School District\u2019s budget.
\n\u2022 Grants to students wanting to make a difference in their school community.
\n\u2022 Scholarships to graduating students.
\n\u2022 Endowments that support the above programs.<\/p>\n
