Students interact with animals in and out of the classroom, job shadow and attend clinics with local veterinarians.

DOWNINGTOWN — On Saturday, Nov. 29, the Technical College High School (TCHS) Brandywine Campus Veterinary Science and Early Childhood Care & Education programs invite families and their pets to have their photos taken with Santa. Photo sessions are available from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and cost $10 for pet photos and $15 for portraits with children and pets. Each package includes one 5 x 7” and two 4 x 6” photos. The school is located at 443 Boot Road in Downingtown.

More than just a photo shoot, Pictures with Santa is an exciting way to capture holiday memories and give TCHS students practical learning experiences. “This event is an opportunity for students in these two programs to explore their chosen career paths outside of the in-class curriculum,” says Veterinary Science instructor Katie Smith. “While working with the public, students will gain real-life experiences in customer relations, communications, teamwork and interactions with animals and children.”

While the role of pets, children and their parents is simple (smile and be as cute as possible!), students will be hard at work during the Pictures with Santa event. Veterinary Science students will be in charge of handling and placing pets properly in each photograph. They will put into practice their experiences and education on proper handling techniques, interpreting animal body language and caring for each animal throughout the session.

Students in the Early Childhood Care & Education program will interact with the children during the photo sessions and use their experiences to lead activities encouraging families to share their thoughts on the holidays, Santa and the importance of giving. Children will be encouraged to write letters to Santa. “And Santa is planning to respond back to each child,” says an inside source with close connections to him. “The response letter will be part of a goody bag given to each family when they pick up their photos.” The goody bag will also include coupons for TCHS Brandywine services provided by barbering and cosmetology students.

Registration in advance is required for Pictures with Santa and space is limited. Call

484-593-8185 to reserve your spot today. All pictures will be available for pick-up within one week of the photo shoot at the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union located in the TCHS Brandywine building.

DOWNINGTOWN — On Saturday, Nov. 29, the Technical College High School (TCHS) Brandywine Campus Veterinary Science and Early Childhood Care & Education programs invite families and their pets to have their photos taken with Santa. Photo sessions are available from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. and cost $10 for pet photos and $15 for portraits with children […]

[1
5527,706,5526
post-13755","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized","tag-brandywine-campus","tag-downingtown","tag-technical-college-high-school
["GET
