Area singer-songwriter, Rick Waterhouse, has been working with each first grade class to help develop customized songs incorporating what the students love, and have\u00a0learned, about these popular authors in preparation for the show.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14274\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/pottery1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14274\" class=\"wp-image-14274 size-medium\" style=\"border: 2px solid #000000; margin: 4px;\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/pottery1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"KHS pottery students' richly colored creations\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/pottery1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/pottery1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14274\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">KHS students&#8217; richly colored pottery creations displayed at the annual pottery sale this week &#8211; proceeds benefitted the KHS pottery department<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Ready for Reading program is funded by the Greenwood PTO\u2019s hands-on learning program. \u201cKids just LOVE it,\u201d says first grade teacher, Lisa English, \u201cthey have been SO excited&#8230;it\u2019s always a great way to channel their energy this time of year.\u201d Throughout the District, PTO partnerships help provide the \u2018extras\u2019 that help enhance the educational experience for both the students and faculty.<\/p>\n<p>At Kennett High School, students\u2019 talent and creativity was featured during its annual pottery sale this week.<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds from the sale were re-invested into the pottery program and its continued need for supplies. The event is a win-win; with prices from $5-$30, not only does it help fund the program and showcase talented young artists; but it is also a great opportunity for the community to purchase beautiful hand-made pottery at reasonable prices.<\/p>\n<p>KCSD faculty has been spotted having a bit of fun this week, too.
