His sudden death this fall, at the age of 42, sent a devastating shock wave through his family and continues to ripple through the community he loved and served.<a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/THOMASFLYER02.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-14352 size-medium\" style=\"border: 2px solid #000000; margin: 4px;\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/THOMASFLYER02-231x300.jpg\" alt=\"THOMASFLYER02\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/THOMASFLYER02-231x300.jpg 231w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/THOMASFLYER02-791x1024.jpg 791w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/THOMASFLYER02-900x1164.jpg 900w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 231px) 100vw, 231px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Marcus was a fixture within the Blue Demons lacrosse organization; and spent many hours on the field assisting developing lacrosse players with fundamentals and providing positive support. When his son, Thomas, (now in eighth grade) moved on to Kennett Middle School (KMS); Marcus began assisting the KMS lacrosse team as well.<\/p>\n<p>Known for his peaceful nature and optimistic outlook, Marcus was a well-liked among the youth he mentored. He loved the outdoors; and enjoyed taking Thomas and his friends camping, fishing, swimming and exposing them to the beauty and energy found in nature and their\u00a0daily surroundings.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To life-long friend Winden Rowe, and her two sons\u00a0William (13) and Reed (11),\u00a0Marcus, Thomas and Thomas\u2019 mother &#8211; Jessica Peterson are family. Winden\u00a0fondly says, \u201cWe have known Thomas since day one&#8230;there have been times where Thomas has been a permanent fixture in our home; endless play dates, family vacations, you name it. &#8211;He&#8217;s been like a brother to us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Rowe Family, who live\u00a0in Kennett Square, have developed a knack for throwing great parties where all are welcome. This year it was William and Reed&#8217;s\u00a0 idea to focus a\u00a0New Year\u2019s Eve celebration\u00a0in support of their dear friend Thomas, and to also celebrate Marcus&#8217; life. \u00a0The party&#8217;s goal is to help defray the countless expenses Thomas\u00a0will encounter as he matures, continues his education and passion for sports.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14357\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Thomas-Marcus-bike.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14357\" class=\"wp-image-14357 size-medium\" style=\"border: 2px solid #000000; margin: 4px;\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Thomas-Marcus-bike-300x195.jpg\" alt=\"Marcus &amp; Thomas\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Thomas-Marcus-bike-300x195.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Thomas-Marcus-bike-900x587.jpg 900w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/12\/Thomas-Marcus-bike.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14357\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Marcus &amp; Thomas Macaluso<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThomas is a kind and thoughtful child; and a kid with a heart of solid gold,&#8221; says Winden, \u00a0&#8220;I hope that this is just one way that we can, as a community, gather together to surround Jessica and Thomas with a lot of love, remember our friend Marcus, and do it all in the spirit of celebration and inviting in a new and better year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The party will feature two bands: TJ Kong and the Atomic Bomb (Named one of the \u201cTop Bands to Watch in 2013\u201d by USA Today) and HellSaddle, a local band with their own original music as well as covers from bands like the Allman Brothers and other classic dance friendly tunes.
