KENNETT SQUARE \u2014\u00a0Wings for Success<\/a>, which provides work-appropriate attire and advice to women in\u00a0need\u00a0who are seeking employment,\u00a0announced Tuesday that its\u00a0new\u00a0satellite facility\u00a0at 457 Birch Street will be open to serve clients on Monday, January 5, 2015.\u00a0Ingrid Lis has been hired as program manager for the new location.<\/p>\n

Lis holds an Associate Degree in Education from Delaware County Community College.\u00a0Her past work experience includes both paid and volunteer work at several Chester County nonprofits, including the Chester County Intermediate Unit and the Brandywine YMCA.\u00a0 She maintains certification as an Interpreter (Spanish\/English), which provides her with a range of communication strategies and skills, in addition to fluent bilingual capacity.<\/p>\n

“Ingrid is passionate about helping families in need, and most of our clients are mothers, so we are delighted to have her join our team,” says Wings for Success Board President Mary Pat Knauss. “Her local roots and community connections\u00a0will serve her well as she recruits and trains volunteers, helps clients referred by a wide range of agencies to learn about Wings and our services, and maintains a welcoming, well-stocked space for clients. Her fluency in Spanish and English is a plus, given the large Spanish-speaking population in Southern Chester County.”<\/p>\n

Since its founding in 1997, Wings for Success has served more than 8,000 women seeking to move forward from challenging circumstances such as homelessness, domestic abuse, and recovery from addiction.\u00a0Personal stylists work with clients to select up to two weeks\u2019 worth of flattering work-appropriate outfits, shoes and accessories valued at approximately $500. Beyond wardrobe assistance, Wings for Success also offers workshops to help women gain the confidence to look, feel and do their best.<\/p>\n

The public is invited to\u00a0attend an\u00a0open house at the\u00a0new Kennett Square facility at\u00a0457 Birch Street\u00a0<\/a>on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, from 4 to 7 pm.\u00a0 Those so inclined are\u00a0encouraged to bring a piece of new or gently-used jewelry to build the site’s\u00a0inventory of accessories.\u00a0Come celebrate as\u00a0Wings for Success\u00a0spreads its wings in Southern Chester County.<\/p>\n
