Games, favorite foods (students are polled for top choices), music, elaborate decorations and activities are just a few examples of the fun in store for attendees.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14556\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2648.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14556\" class=\"wp-image-14556 size-medium\" style=\"border: 2px solid #000000; margin: 4px;\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2648-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Area students enjoying KHS After Prom festivities\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2648-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2648.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14556\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Area students enjoying KHS After Prom festivities<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>Nationally 5,000 teenagers are injured on a typical prom night, including 48 fatalities; and the committee wants to help ensure those grim statistics does not hit home here in Chester County. Organizers underscore that the event is fun, cheaper than throwing a private party, and offers a wide array of options to help keep students entertained and safe on a night that is often associated with risky behaviors.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The committee would also like to share that to enjoy the After Party students <em>do<\/em> <em>not <\/em>have to attend the prom; and, it is also open to underclassman who are a guest of a KHS Junior or Senior.\u00a0 The event is not a \u201clock-in\u201d however, students must be signed-out by a parent or guardian; and are not permitted to drive themselves home.<\/p>\n<p>Elizabeth Stinson, After Prom Committee Co-Chair says, \u201cThe committee strives to make the evening an all-inclusive event and by doing so, it\u00a0remains a place that our kids want to spend time. \u00a0For example, upperclassmen can simply come to the party with a friend, their prom date or by themselves&#8230;we just want the kids here, staying safe and having a great time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stinson notes that the Committee is working hard to break through any obstacles that may prevent a student from attending including exploring busing for those students who may not have access to transportation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_14557\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2646.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14557\" class=\"wp-image-14557 size-medium\" style=\"border: 2px solid #000000; margin: 4px;\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2646-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Volunteers help make KHS After Prom an annual tradition\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2646-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/IMG_2646.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-14557\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">V<span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">olunteers help make KHS After Prom an annual tradition<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p>This Thursday, Jan. 15 from 6 PM &#8211; 8PM, the Committee is hosting a fundraising social at the popular Buckley\u2019s Tavern, Route 52 Centreville, Del. with an eye on achieving the $25,000 goal needed to hold the annual After Prom Party.\u00a0 Kennett-area and members of surrounding communities are invited to come meet friends, take a break from cooking, and support this great cause.<\/p>\n<p>Buckley\u2019s has generously agreed to donate 10% of the evening\u2019s food sales and 100% of bar tips toward the Committee\u2019s fundraising efforts.\u00a0 Additionally there will be great raffle items and a 50\/50 drawing adding to the evening\u2019s fun.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Times\u2019<\/em> Editor &amp; Publisher, Mike McGann, is pleased to announce <em>The Times\u2019<\/em> support of the KHS After Prom Committee\u2019s efforts and applauds their\u00a0focus on the safety and bright futures of area teens. \u00a0McGann is offering the first business, organization or individual that makes a $500 or greater donation to Kennett After Prom\u00a0<em>a complimentary one month, standard-size, digital box ad<\/em> on the widely-read <em>KennettTimes.com<\/em> website, along with mention of their support posted on\u00a0<em>Kennett Times&#8217;<\/em> Facebook\u00a0page.<\/p>\n<p>KHS\u2019 After Prom is a nonprofit, 501C-3 organization and is currently accepting donations via PayPal on its\u00a0website: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kennettafterprom.org\">http:\/\/www.kennettafterprom.org<\/a>.\u00a0 Supporters may also send a check, made payable to \u2018Kennett After Prom\u2019, and mail it to Kennett High School \u2013 Attn: After Prom, 100 E.
