Magdaleno Perez-Miranda<\/p><\/div>\n

NEW GARDEN \u2014 Township police charged an Avondale man with repeatedly sexually assaulting a township minor over the past five years.<\/p>\n

Magdaleno Perez-Miranda was taken into custody last week, following an investigation, and charged with five counts of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, five counts of\u00a0Aggravated Indecent Assault, 10 counts of Indecent Assault, one count of\u00a0Endangering Welfare of Children and one count of Corruption of Minors.<\/p>\n

Perez-Miranda is not related to the child, but apparently, police said, had a relationship with the child’s mother.<\/p>\n

Police were called to a township school building, after the child reported to school officials that she had been sexually assaulted in her home for parts of the last five years.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, the police met with a school counselor who told police that the school was\u00a0following protocols by contacting the Division of Children, Youth\u00a0and Family to report that a student at their institution was being sexually\u00a0assaulted in their home by a family member. It should be noted that there is no\u00a0allegation or evidence of assault on school property.<\/p>\n

The school counselor told police that\u00a0a student and friend of the victim who was concerned for the\u00a0victim’s welfare had alerted school officials to the situation. According to police, the friend received text messages from the victim\u00a0expressing a wish to die. The counselor located the victim who was\u00a0at school at the time.<\/p>\n

When the counselor met with the victim, the child disclosed being the\u00a0victim of sexual abuse for approximately five years. The victim further\u00a0revealed that the incidents occurred in her home which is located in the township.<\/p>\n

Later that day, police facilitated a forensic interview at the Child Advocacy\u00a0Center. During the interview, the victim revealed a history of sexual abuse\u00a0committed by the defendant which began approximately five years ago. Further\u00a0investigation found that Perez-Miranda had a relationship with the victim’s\u00a0mother for approximately 12 years.<\/p>\n

On the morning of Jan. 8, \u00a0Perez-Miranda was arraigned\u00a0before District Justice Matthew Seavey at the Magisterial District Court 15-4-04.\u00a0Perez-Miranda was remanded to Chester County Prison in lieu of bail, which was\u00a0set at $2 million cash.<\/p>\n
