Photo is courtesy of The Farm at Doe Run.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>HARRISBURG \u2014 Chester County farmers and producers received high marks from Pennsylvania Farm Show judges last week, resulting in an impressive array of ribbons in almost every agricultural discipline in the show\u2019s 99<sup>th<\/sup> year of operation.<\/p>\n<p>Chester County cheesemakers swept all three \u201cBest of Show\u201d top spots in the Show\u2019s first-ever cheese competition. The Farm at Doe Run (Coatesville) took first place with their \u201cSeven Sisters\u201d cheese, while Yellow Springs Farm\u2019s (Chester Springs) \u201cCloud Nine\u201d cheese and Birchrun Hills Farm\u2019s (Chester Springs) \u201cTomme Mole\u201d cheese earned second and third places overall, in addition to several other ribbons in their various subcategories.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, September Farms (Honeybrook) and Shellbark Hollow Farm (West Chester) won several ribbons in their specific subcategories rounding out the impressive roster of wins.<\/p>\n<p>Chester County mushroom producers To-Jo Mushrooms (Avondale) and Phillips Mushroom Farm (Kennett Square) took first and third places in the overall mushroom exhibitor competition, continuing the county\u2019s tradition of impressive competition results as the top mushroom producing county in the nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are very proud of the farmers and producers who did such a great job of demonstrating the agricultural excellence Chester County is famous for,\u201d said Chris Alonzo, Board Chair of the Chester County Ag Council and President of Pietro Mushrooms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom our outstanding results in the cheese competition to our solid showing in mushrooms and livestock, the Farm Show allows us to showcase all the many ways agriculture the top industry here in Chester County.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_102529\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mushroomexhibit-300x189.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-102529\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1025293 \" style=\"border: 2px solid black; margin: 4px;\" alt=\"mushroomexhibit\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/mushroomexhibit-300x189.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"189\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-102529\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grow logs and mushroom bags which were part of the Farm Show Mushroom exhibit, donated by Phillips Mushroom Farms.
