{"id":1588,"date":"2011-10-25T13:57:15","date_gmt":"2011-10-25T17:57:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=1588"},"modified":"2011-10-25T13:57:15","modified_gmt":"2011-10-25T17:57:15","slug":"letter-kennett-hiding-financial-information","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=1588","title":{"rendered":"Letter: Kennett hiding financial information"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>To The Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?attachment_id=1608\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1608\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1608 alignright\" style=\"margin: 4px;\" title=\"Letters1\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/Letters12.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a>Robert Listerman, who is Allan Falcoff&#8217;s campaign manager, wants you to believe that the big issue in Kennett Township is an outrageous request for the Township&#8217;s financial data that he claims will expose the private information of township employees.\u00a0 According to Intuit, the software company that created their Quickbooks software, protected information can be easily changed or redacted to protect employees privacy.\u00a0 Several C.P.A.s we have consulted confirm this as well.\u00a0 This is not the issue. This red herring is part of a coordinated effort to hide financial information that Chairman Falcoff does not want exposed. The State of Pennsylvania&#8217;s Right to Know Special Master ordered the financials released but the Supervisors still refuse to follow the law. Do not be fooled!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Listerman goes on to blame the Stevens&#8217; campaign for the cost of the coverup.\u00a0 The Supervisors chose to fight Scudder&#8217;s request for public information rather than simply release it as other municipalities do.\u00a0 The Supervisors chose to use the Township lawyers to fight the request for information every resident has a right to see.\u00a0 They have spent over $20,000 to date in time and lawyers&#8217; fees to keep the residents from finding out how our tax money is being spent.<\/p>\n<p>Kennett Township&#8217;s revenues are not the private piggy bank of the Supervisors.
