Academic All Star – TOTAL package<\/em>…Avon Grove High’s Tyler Mebane<\/strong>\u00a0was named\u00a0Competitor of the Year<\/strong>\u00a0for the\u00a0Academic Competition<\/strong>\u00a0held annually and hosted by the\u00a0Chester County Intermediate Unit.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0Times<\/em>\u00a0sources\u00a0report, “He stood out heads and tails above the rest with his teamwork…he incredibly smart, but he often consulted and included other members of the team; and never tried to make it the “Tyler show,”\u00a0 In addition to being very academically talented, he was a real team leader and team player.”\u00a0 Oh, and by the way, Tyler was also recently named a National Merit Scholar…<\/p>\n

After\u00a0raising more than $7,000<\/strong>; as a result of their efforts funding for a well at\u00a0Agama Primary School in Uganda<\/strong>, and\u00a0funding a water filtration\/hydration system<\/strong>\u00a0at a school in the\u00a0Dominican Republic<\/strong>\u00a0occurred…<\/p>\n

KMS Sighting: Bright\u00a0green furry thing with moves like ‘Jagger’,\u00a0amazing belly dance abilities\u00a0while distributing random BIG kisses …It could only mean one thing:\u00a0<\/em>The\u00a0Phillie Phanatic<\/strong>\u00a0spent the afternoon at\u00a0Kennett Middle School’s (KMS)\u00a0‘Schools to Watch’<\/strong>\u00a0re-designation celebration\u00a0this week.\u00a0 The always crazy Phanatic cheered on KMS students, faculty,\u00a0staff, families and community that are\u00a0each a part of achieving this prestigious award. He even spent time (to the kids’ delight!) directing traffic and getting students onto their busses.\u00a0 KMS is only one of four middle schools in the region to receive this honor…<\/p>\n
