DeAngelis has worked in the district for fourteen years and was formerly KMS\u2019 assistant principal and also served as acting principal during the search process. \u201cIt is truly and honor to be at KMS; and to be its leader is a blessing and a privilege\u201d said DeAngelis.<\/p>\n<p>KMS leadership team will also include a new assistant principal, Brenna Levi. Levi, formerly a KMS Spanish teacher, has focused her graduate work on school administration and says \u201cI am so excited to be able to continue my career here at KMS; there is no other place I\u2019d want to be&#8230;and, to receive so much encouragement and support from students and the community is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1144664\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/aprilandfam-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1144664\" class=\"wp-image-1144664 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/aprilandfam-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"aprilandfam\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1144664\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mary D. Lang K-center&#8217;s new principal, April Reynolds (right), along with her daughter Paige (L), son Wesley Jr, and husband Wesley.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>KCSD\u2019s youngest students will also be under the guidance of a new leader as April Reynolds was named the new principal of the Mary D. Lang kindergarten center and will replace Carla Horne who recently announced retirement. \u00a0 Reynolds is a former KCSD elementary level and kindergarten teacher whose enthusiasm is unmistakable and infectious. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to start\u2026I wish it were today!\u201d<br \/>\nReynolds will take the helm on August 3rd and is encouraging all her new students and parents to stop by and say hello. Playing off the popularity of Universal Pictures summer 2015 box office hit \u201cMinions\u201d Reynolds says her students are each \u201cOne in a \u2018minion\u2019!\u201d<br \/>\nFollowing these announcements, board member Aline Frank remarked, \u201cI have a lot of respect for the thoroughness of the candidate selection process and the qualifications of the individuals selected.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1144666\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/brenna-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1144666\" class=\"wp-image-1144666 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/brenna-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"brenna\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1144666\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">KMS&#8217; new assistant principal, Brenna Levi, and her parents Lynn and Bob Levi.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>During the personnel report, Mrs. Nancy Tischer who has served as the district\u2019s Director of Human Resources since 1999, announced her retirement. In 2013, Tischer was nominated by her peers and honored by the Pennsylvania Association of School Personnel Administrators (PASPA) for her outstanding work and guidance to others in the school personnel field. Meeting attendees gave Tischer a standing ovation for her years of dedicated service to KCSD.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1144669\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/tisher-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1144669\" class=\"wp-image-1144669 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/tisher-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"tisher\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1144669\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Meeting attendees offer a standing ovation to Nancy Tisher, KCSD&#8217;s Director of Human Resources, for her years of dedicated service.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In other district news, the ongoing renovation of Greenwood Elementary\u2019s multi-purpose room remains on track for a target completion date of August 14. Mr. Robert Perzel, KCSD\u2019s Director of Facilities and Construction reported that the new roof top air conditioning and duct work have been successfully installed, painting has been completed and the installation of ceiling insulation is currently underway. The Greenwood project is the largest of 37 district-wide facilities projects scheduled for this summer.<\/p>\n<p>Two important district fees, cafeteria pricing and district events (athletic, performing arts, dances, etc.) were approved with no increase in pricing over the 2014 fees. KCSD will continue to participate in the free and reduced lunch price programs using PA income guidelines for students\u2019 eligibility.<\/p>\n<p>The next KCSD school board meeting is scheduled for 7 PM, September 8, at Kennett High School.
