The National Championship was held at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort &amp; Spa Palm Springs. KMC Head Coach Iryna Aliyevska and 16 gymnasts travelled to Palm Springs to compete in the week long final competition of the gymnastics season.<\/p>\n<p>The national competition includes three competitive formats: All Around, Individual Event, (gymnasts qualify to Event Finals on their first day of preliminary competition) and Team Championship per competitive level.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The following KMC gymnasts placed 1st for their age and competitive level on an individual event: Lily Steffensen (10yr) 1<sup>st<\/sup> Bars, Caitlin Klein (12yr) 1<sup>st<\/sup> Beam, Cara Steffensen (9yr) 1<sup>st<\/sup> Beam, Ashley Torrey (12yr) 1<sup>st<\/sup> Bars and Vault, and Leah Lipsman (14yr) 1<sup>st<\/sup> Floor.<\/p>\n<p>Individual all-around scores follow. The score is out of a possible 40.0. The score is followed by national rank:<\/p>\n<p>Copper: Peyton Torrey 35.95 (8<sup>th<\/sup>), Lily Steffensen 35.25 (10<sup>th<\/sup>), Hannah Wilcox 35.975 (4<sup>th<\/sup>), and Caitlin Klein 36.125 (3<sup>rd<\/sup>). The KMC Copper team placed 5<sup>th<\/sup> out of 16 teams.<\/p>\n<p>Copper 2: Peyton Burrell 35.575 (10<sup>th<\/sup>), and Cara Steffensen 37.30 (2<sup>nd<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p>Bronze: Jenna Lamberth 34.475 (5<sup>th<\/sup>), Lauren Fenstermacher 33.85 (11<sup>th<\/sup>), Carly Rutledge 33.65 (15<sup>th<\/sup>), Courtney Mettee 34.05 (9<sup>th<\/sup>), and Eva Tryon 33.20 (14<sup>th<\/sup>). The KMC Bronze team placed 4<sup>th<\/sup> out of 18 teams.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze Diamond: Meghan Dunlap 35.00 (9<sup>th<\/sup>), Katie Dettore 35.60 (7<sup>th<\/sup>), and Ashley Torrey 36.925 <strong>(1<sup>st<\/sup>). <\/strong>The KMC Bronze Diamond team placed 3<sup>rd<\/sup> out of 14 teams.<\/p>\n<p>Silver: Leah Lipsman 35.85 (4<sup>th<\/sup>) and Anna Lipsman 34.225 (13<sup>th<\/sup>).<\/p>\n<p>Copper 2 gymnast Cara Steffensen received the highest all around score for KMC achieving a 37.20 giving her a 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place finish.<\/p>\n<p>Bronze Diamond gymnast Ashley Torrey achieved a national champion title for her performance in Palm Springs. She qualified for event finals on all four events. Torrey also placed 1<sup>st<\/sup> on both bars and vault. Torrey is a West Chester resident who is going into 7<sup>th<\/sup> grade at Patton Middle School. This is her third year competing for KMC.
