D\u2019Annunzio, <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><em>Staff Writer, KennettTimes.com<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?attachment_id=1803\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1803\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1803\" style=\"border: 2px solid blue; margin: 4px;\" title=\"kennettsq\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/kennettsq-271x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/kennettsq-271x300.jpg 271w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/11\/kennettsq.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 271px) 100vw, 271px\" \/><\/a>KENNETT SQUARE \u2014 It just goes to show that Kennett Square has more than just mushrooms.<\/p>\n<p>The efforts of Historic Kennett Square (HKS) continue to go a long way in boosting Kennett\u2019s commerce in the lagging economy, as well as keeping small town civic pride alive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast month\u2019s fundraising events were very successful, along with the Halloween Parade,\u201d Mary Hutchins of HKS said. \u201cWe also received great press from the ribbon cutting we had on October 12<sup>th<\/sup> for seven new businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also slated to open is Mystique, a men\u2019s and women\u2019s fashion boutique located at 116 E. State Street. The space was left vacant since the departure of the Kennett Paper.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In the vein of upcoming events, HKS announced the Winter Outdoor Farmer\u2019s Market to be held at 2-4 PM on the first and third Fridays of the month, located on State Street at the Genesis Walkway. \u00a0The market will include locally grown fruits and vegetables, farm-fresh meat and dairy products, homemade baked goods, jams, and jellies, cut flowers and plants, and more.<\/p>\n<p>As for the upcoming Holiday Season, a parade is scheduled for November 25<sup>th<\/sup> featuring Mr. &amp; Mrs. Claus, at tree lighting, and The Mummers. Shops will open their doors to visitors and locals alike for this traditional event.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with the holiday spirit, HKS has planned the Holiday Art Stroll for December 2<sup>nd<\/sup>.\u00a0 The Kennett arts community invites the public to visit the unique, independently-owned shops, galleries, and restaurants to enjoy special exhibits, delicious food, and refreshments throughout the downtown area.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, winter carriage rides are slated for December 4<sup>th<\/sup>, 11<sup>th<\/sup>, and 18<sup>th<\/sup>.
