{"id":18709,"date":"2016-03-10T07:05:53","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T12:05:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=18709"},"modified":"2016-03-10T07:08:13","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T12:08:13","slug":"ag-junior-earns-highest-possible-act-score","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=18709","title":{"rendered":"AG Junior earns highest possible ACT score"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;\">Just 1% of students achieve this\u00a0honor nationwide<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>WEST GROVE &#8211; Avon Grove High School Junior Noah Donten scored the highest possible ACT Composite Score of 36, an accomplishment that about one-tenth of 1% of students who take the ACT achieve each year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The ACT consists of tests in English, math, reading and science, and a student\u2019s score is the average of the four scores.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1304818\" style=\"width: 218px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/noah-208x300.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1304818\" class=\"wp-image-1304818 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/noah-208x300.jpg\" alt=\"noah\" width=\"208\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1304818\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Avon Grove High&#8217;s Noah Donten &#8216;aces&#8217; the ACTs.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe AP Curriculum absolutely prepared me,\u201d said Noah. \u201cThe guidance counselors talked a lot to us about preparing for our college entrance exams.\u00a0 The AP curriculum and Academically Talented program did an excellent job with preparation, too.\u00a0 It\u2019s the little things you don\u2019t think about each day but become ingrained in you that really make a difference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The 16 year-old is planning to major in Actuarial Science and is currently considering Penn State, Temple, and Robert Morris.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNoah is a very capable and humble student,\u201d said Avon Grove High School Principal Scott DeShong.\u00a0\u201cWhile his family and teachers have prepared him well for his future, his personal qualities and characteristics will take him far in life after graduating from Avon Grove.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last year only about 1,500 students out of the 1.92 million who take the ACT scored as well as Noah did.
