Chester County"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PennDOT-300x300.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1321501\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/PennDOT-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"PennDOT\" \/><\/a>Construction is underway on a PennDOT project to repair deteriorated pavement on two state highways in southern Chester County, state Senator Andy Dinniman said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Crews began work Tuesday\u00a0to resurface nearly six miles of U.S. 1 between Hopewell Road and Route 896 (Newark Road) in East Nottingham, Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford and Oxford. The project is expected to be completed in late April.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The existing deteriorated riding surface will be milled and a new asphalt pavement installed on the four-lane expressway to provide smoother travel.<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Crews will work today through Saturday, April 2, from 7 a.m. to 5 a.m., to mill the left lane on northbound U.S. 1 between Hopewell Road and Route 10. Then over the next four weeks, the crews will work Mondays through Saturdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to repave the highway. In addition, the ramps at the U.S. 1 interchanges at Route 472 and Route 10 will be replaced.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Next, crews are scheduled to resurface just over seven miles of Route 10 (Limestone Road\/Church Street\/Octorara Trail) between Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) and U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) in West Fallowfield, Highland, Sadsbury and Parkesburg. That project is slated to begin May and be completed June.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">These two projects were part of a more than $5.2 million contract awarded to Allan Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County, to improve conditions on 21 total miles of state highways in Chester County. It also included the milling and repaving of three miles of Waterloo Avenue between Sugartown Road and U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) in Easttown.
