In the spring of 2017, we will\u00a0Celebrate Women \u201cFirsts\u201d through a three-part monthly speaker series launching in March.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The March 20 launch event will feature panelists Chief Natasha Norwood Carmine, first\u00a0woman chief of the Nanticoke Indian Tribe and Alisa Morkides, founder of Delaware\u2019s biggest independent coffee shop Brew Ha Ha. April 24\u2019s event will include, Andrea Taylor,\u00a0who was the first\u00a0to launch Women&#8217;s Encore, LLC, coaching program for women in transition, will discuss the value of women mentoring women and facilitate a speed mentoring event. The May 15 \u2018First Impressions Matter\u2019 event will include wisdom and advice from Dr. Laura Sicola, founder of Vocal Impact Productions and Linda Farquhar, founder of entreDonovan career clothing boutique.<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe are living amid considerable political and policy changes that impact women, so our\u00a0focus on women\u00a0is more important than ever,\u201d says Great Dames President Sharon Kelly Hake. \u201cWe\u2019re privileged to offer this incredible opportunity to showcase and stand strong for all women who have made significant accomplishments in our communities, both locally and globally.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cGreat Dames truly impacts a diverse community, and we couldn\u2019t be happier to welcome our friends back for what sounds like an even more inspiring season \u2014 if that\u2019s possible!\u201d says Xavier Teixido, owner, Harry\u2019s Savoy Grill and host of the series.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ticket proceeds are donated to the Great Dames Fund to support\u00a0causes\u00a0that empower women and girls.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WILMINGTON \u2014 This year, Great Dames is celebrating women who paved the path for other women.
