At its April 13 meeting, the Kennett Area Democrats (KAD) elected a new slate of officers to guide the civic organization through the next four years:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Chair: Wayne Braffman, Kennett Square<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Vice-Chair: Victoria Wiedwald, Kennett Township<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Secretary: Karen Meyerson, East Marlborough<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Treasurer: Dale LaBar, East Marlborough<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“Given the current political climate, the years ahead promise to be a challenging and exciting time for us,” said Braffman, the new KAD chair. “Our members are engaged, enthusiastic and eager to meet those challenges.”<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
He noted his excitement in leading an organization with such deep roots in the local community.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
“Kennett Area Democrats are involved in our communities in a variety of ways, from engaging in the nonpartisan effort to end gerrymandering to supporting our Latino neighbors to donating to organizations like Family Promise, Kennett Area Community Services, LCH, YMCA and the MLK CommUNITY Breakfast to electing Democrats every November.” he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

The KAD presence is also seen every year at the Cinco de Mayo Festival, Kennett Square Farmer\u2019s Market and the Mushroom Festival Parade.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Outgoing Chair Dick Bingham\u00a0noted that KAD is in good hands moving forward.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

“I became KAD\u2019s chair four years ago,” Bingham said. “The organization was strong then and it is even stronger today, thanks to the hard work of many people. I have no doubt Wayne, Victoria, Karen and Dale will continue to build the organization, constantly focusing on the goal of getting more and more Democrats elected in the Kennett area, across Chester County and at the State and Federal levels.”<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Kennett Area Democrats encompass 10 municipalities in southeastern Chester County:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Avondale, East Marlborough, Kennett Square, Kennett Township, London Britain, New Garden, Newlin, Pennsbury, Pocopson and West Marlborough.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
