The KMC USAIGC girls\u2019 gymnastics team.<\/p><\/div>\n

KENNETT SQUARE \u2014 The KMC USAIGC girls\u2019 gymnastics team from Kennett Square finished up their 2017 season with a number of impressive wins at the State, Regional, and World Championships. Leading KMC to victory were coaches Iryna Aliyevska, Jerry Fix, and Don Furrer. Below are the results from each of the championship meets.<\/p>\n

States Championships, Sunbury, PA\u00a0\u00a0 May 13-14<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Forty-eight KMC gymnasts competed against 16 other gyms. KMC won the following team awards: Copper 1 (2nd<\/sup>), Copper 2 (1st<\/sup>), Bronze (2nd<\/sup>), Bronze Diamond (1st<\/sup>), Silver (2nd<\/sup>), Gold (1st<\/sup>), and Platinum (1st<\/sup>).\u00a0\u00a0 The gymnasts competed on four events: balance beam, floor, uneven bars, and vault. The following KMC gymnasts placed either 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup>, or 3rd<\/sup> place on one or more of these various individual events and\/or all-around:<\/p>\n

Copper 1<\/strong>: Mallorie Carter, Julianna Igo, Catie Curtis, Katie Slawter, and Rebecca Reda<\/p>\n

Copper 2<\/strong>: Sophia Armandi, Gayle Reyburn, Sarah Wood, Abigail Smith, Leah Pellegrino, Saige Pfeifer, and Kendall Rybarczk<\/p>\n

Bronze<\/strong>: Allie D\u2019Angelo, Abigail Smith, Isabella Albers, Peyton Burrell, Katie Ogurcak, Kendall Rybarczyk, Clare Cotter, and Caitlin Klein<\/p>\n

Bronze Diamond<\/strong>: Alena Kurtz, Cassidy Bonura, Victoria Chiusano, Mackenzie Deming, Hannah Wilcox, and Larissa Leach<\/p>\n

World Championships, Reno, Nevada Jun 26-30<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Fourteen gymnasts represented KMC and traveled to Reno, Nevada where they competed against over 49 gyms from NJ, NY, CA, PA, DE, and even the UK. KMC won the following team awards: Copper 1 (3rd<\/sup>), Copper 2 (2nd<\/sup> ), Bronze Diamond and (1st<\/sup>).\u00a0\u00a0 The gymnasts competed on four events: balance beam, floor, uneven bars, and vault. In these various final events and\/or all-around, the following KMC gymnasts placed either 1st<\/sup>, 2nd<\/sup>, or 3rd<\/sup> place:<\/p>\n

Copper 1<\/strong>: Catie Curtis (1st<\/sup> Vault, 2nd<\/sup> Beam, 2nd<\/sup> All-Around), Julianna Igo (3rd<\/sup> Bars, 2nd<\/sup> Floor)<\/p>\n
