The Chester County <span class=\"s4\">schoo<\/span><span class=\"s5\">l <\/span>districts are coordinating with the DAO on this <span class=\"s6\">program<\/span><span class=\"s7\">. <\/span>The next <span class=\"s2\">school shootings <\/span>presentation is a<span class=\"s3\">t <\/span>6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at West <span class=\"s6\">Che<\/span><span class=\"s7\">s<\/span><span class=\"s6\">ter <\/span>East High School.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The school <span class=\"s2\">shootings<\/span> program i<span class=\"s3\">s<\/span> presented by District Attorney Tom Hogan and Downingtown Police <span class=\"s1\">Department <\/span>Detective Andy Trautmann. District Attorney Hogan has extensive experience <span class=\"s2\">in <\/span>dealing with domestic terrorism as a federal prosecutor. Detective Trautmann is both a SWAT commander and a former <span class=\"s2\">school <\/span>resource officer, giving him a unique perspective on the <span class=\"s2\">issue <\/span>of school shootings. Both District Attorney Hogan and Detective Trautmann have studied hundreds of active shooter incidents from around the world.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p class=\"p5\">The <span class=\"s2\">school<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">shootings<\/span> presentation covers a number of important topics, <span class=\"s1\">including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li7\">Possible causes of <span class=\"s2\">school<\/span> <span class=\"s2\">shootings<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li8\"><span class=\"s1\">Firearms <\/span>used in school shootings<\/li>\n<li class=\"li9\"><span class=\"s1\">Increa<\/span><span class=\"s2\">s<\/span><span class=\"s1\">ing <\/span>frequency of school shootings<\/li>\n<li class=\"li12\">The evolution stages of a school shooter<\/li>\n<li class=\"li13\">Advice for <span class=\"s18\">p<\/span><span class=\"s25\">r<\/span><span class=\"s18\">event<\/span><span class=\"s26\">i<\/span><span class=\"s18\">ng <\/span>and responding to <span class=\"s27\">s<\/span>chool shootings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p15\">District Attorney Hogan stated, &#8220;School shootings <span class=\"s6\">a<\/span><span class=\"s28\">r<\/span><span class=\"s6\">e<\/span> a grim and frightening aspect of modem life<span class=\"s29\">. <\/span>Rather than duck the issue and hope it never happens here, Chester County law enforcement has twin goals<span class=\"s29\">: <\/span>(1) prevent the attacks from happening; and (2) be prepared i<span class=\"s27\">f <\/span>a school shooting happens. These presentations serve both goals.
