{"id":3211,"date":"2012-04-12T14:41:48","date_gmt":"2012-04-12T18:41:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=3211"},"modified":"2012-04-12T14:41:48","modified_gmt":"2012-04-12T18:41:48","slug":"oped-howard-asks-voters-for-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=3211","title":{"rendered":"Op\/Ed: Howard asks voters for support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong>By Roger Howard<\/strong>, <span style=\"font-size: x-small;\"><em>Candidate, State Senate, 9th District<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To the voters of the 9<sup>th<\/sup> district:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3214\" style=\"width: 220px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/RogerHoward.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3214\" class=\" wp-image-3214 \" style=\"border: 2px solid blue; margin: 4px;\" title=\"RogerHoward\" src=\"http:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/RogerHoward-300x272.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/RogerHoward-300x272.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/RogerHoward.jpg 429w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3214\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Roger Howard<\/p><\/div>\n<p>On April 24<sup>th<\/sup> the Republican voters of the 9<sup>th<\/sup> district have a choice in the Republican Primary for State Senate for the first time in at least a decade.\u00a0 Are the people satisfied with how Harrisburg works to put special interest and big money donors first, before the taxpayers? \u00a0My supporters and I have knocked on thousands of doors, and we hear that most of the citizens of the 9<sup>th<\/sup> District are not satisfied with business as usual in Harrisburg, and particularly with the Senate leadership.\u00a0 It is time to vote, to change the incumbent leadership that did not respond to the taxpayers voice in the 2010 election.<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" src=\"http:\/\/www.unionvilletimes.com\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" alt=\"\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Our founding documents state that We the People must give our consent to be governed, and the voters of the 9<sup>th<\/sup> District want a Senator who will represent their core values of limited government, limited spending and personal responsibility. \u00a0They have grown weary of a \u2018Senate Boss\u2019 who represents lobbyists and the entrenched establishment of Harrisburg.\u00a0 They want to give their consent to a candidate who will work to stop our State from borrowing money to give to politically favored projects, companies and unions who, in turn, contribute to the political campaign funds of those Senators who favor them.
