Luckily, the officer was able to jump out of the path of the vehicle and was not struck. The suspect then reportedly resumed travel south on Limestone Road into the state of Delaware, continuing onto Kirkwood Highway and into the city of Wilmington.

Police from Elsmere, New Castle County, Wilmington, and the Delaware State Police eventually joined in the pursuit in order to stop the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect’s vehicle was eventually blocked in by police at Foulk and Murphy roads in New Castle County, Del. where the suspect was taken into custody after an incident with Wilmington police.

The suspect remains in the custody of Wilmington City Police, charged with allegedly trying to run his vehicle into a second officer (a Wilimington officer) and numerous other offenses.

Clark is currently facing the following criminal charges in Pennsylvania: Criminal Attempted Homicide, Aggravated and Simple Assault, Reckless Endangerment of another person, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police, Reckless Driving, and other traffic related offenses.

Despite the length of the pursuit, no police officers were reported injured during the incident.

Borough police pursue a suspect from Kennett Square into New Castle County By P.J.
