LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. \u2013 The Lincoln University Board of Trustees unanimously approved a new 5-year employment contract for President Brenda A. Allen, Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am committed to united leadership and collaboration with Dr. Allen,\u201d said Board Chairlady Theresa R. Braswell \u201984. \u201cThe board is eager to work with Dr. Allen to advance the legacy and support the mission of the nation\u2019s first degree-granting Historically Black College & University.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe board is pleased with the direction of Lincoln and credits the recent successes of the University to Dr. Allen\u2019s leadership and the team she has assembled. In the past three years, with her vision, leadership, and tireless devotion, the Lincoln community has experienced renewed energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Allen became the 14th\u00a0president in 2017, she has focused the University\u2019s resources on student success by reinvesting in Lincoln\u2019s roots as a world-class liberal arts institution.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am confident that the administration and board are more aligned in our vision for the future because of discussions during the past three months,\u201d said Allen. \u201cBy working together with the board, we will lead this institution through this unprecedented time and emerge more resilient and ready for the next 167 years. We have developed a clear strategy to reimagine the legacy of Lincoln. Now let\u2019s keep moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allen led a concerted, multifaceted effort to build upon the University\u2019s strong legacy of producing world leaders, its global engagement, and its commitment to social justice. She implemented a new, comprehensive strategic plan,\u00a0Reimagining the Legacy: Learn. Liberate. Lead.<\/a>, and completed a comprehensive, University-wide restructuring to implement the strategic plan. Her leadership during a self-study that culminated in the 10-year reaccreditation of the University by the Middle State Commission on Higher Education. For two straight years, the University has been ranked as a top 20 HBCU by U.S. News & World Report.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
