{"id":37062,"date":"2021-05-07T09:08:45","date_gmt":"2021-05-07T13:08:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=37062"},"modified":"2021-05-07T09:08:51","modified_gmt":"2021-05-07T13:08:51","slug":"chester-county-opens-walk-in-sites-for-covid-vaccine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=37062","title":{"rendered":"Chester County opens walk-in sites for COVID vaccine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/201221_FS_ModernaVaccine.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-13866\" src=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/201221_FS_ModernaVaccine-350x241.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"241\" \/><\/a>Chester County Health Department officials announced a number of COVID-19 vaccine clinics now offer walk-in vaccinations.\u00a0\u00a0 County health officials encourage everyone who is eligible, but has not yet received the vaccine, to take advantage of this free, convenient option.<\/p>\n<p>From Friday, May 7, the Health Department\u2019s walk-in vaccine clinic at the Exton Square Mall (former Sears store) will offer Pfizer and Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccines, and the Longwood Gardens overflow parking area drive-thru clinic will offer Moderna and Johnson &amp; Johnson vaccines.\u00a0 These clinics are open Tuesday through Sunday.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Three senior centers in the county now serve as walk-in clinics, administering the Moderna vaccine.\u00a0 These senior centers are Phoenixville Senior Center, Oxford Area Senior Center, and Brandywine Valley Active Aging in Coatesville.<\/p>\n<p>The Chester County Health Department will vaccinate any eligible person that visits one of the Health Department walk-in vaccination sites. Locust Street, Oxford, PA, 19363<\/p>\n<p>Moderna<\/p>\n<p>Mondays, 10:00am \u2013 1:00pm<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Chester County Health Department will complete existing appointments at the following COVID-19 vaccine clinics through May 27:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>West Chester University\u2019s Sturzebecker Health Sciences Center<\/li>\n<li>Jennersville YMCA<\/li>\n<li>Kimberton Fire Company<\/li>\n<li>Brandywine YMCA in Coatesville<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Appointments for the Pfizer vaccine continue to be booked for the Chester County Government Services Center in West Chester.<\/p>\n<p>As of May 5, 2021, Chester County leads the region with 70 percent of eligible people partially or fully vaccinated. \u00a0Currently, 38% of all Chester County residents age 18 and over are fully vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>Chester County Health Department Director Jeanne Casner said, \u201cChester County\u2019s lead in vaccination rates is great, but this final push is key.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe encourage everyone eligible who hasn\u2019t yet been vaccinated, to book an appointment or just walk in to a clinic, so that Chester County becomes one of the first counties, or even the very first county in Pennsylvania to meet \u2013 and exceed \u2013 the Governor\u2019s benchmark of 70 percent fully vaccinated.\u00a0 Let\u2019s do our part now, to become mask-free.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chester County Health Department officials announced a number of COVID-19 vaccine clinics now offer walk-in vaccinations.\u00a0\u00a0 County health officials encourage everyone who is eligible, but has not yet received the vaccine, to take advantage of this free, convenient option.
