His first day will be November 22.<\/p><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cChris was chosen after a national search for the Director position, and we feel he is a perfect fit for the Kennett Library,\u201d said Jeff Yetter, President of the Board. \u201cHe comes with years of experience in a variety of library settings and has been a part of several library building projects,\u201d Yetter said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Manna began his career in 1999, in the libraries at the University of Maryland and John Hopkins University. In 2013, he worked as a national Library Solution Consultant,\u00a0helping libraries develop new methods for increasing services.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>In 2016, he joined the Pioneer Library System in Oklahoma,\u00a0where he worked as its Information Services Manager before becoming the manager of the Moore, Oklahoma 35,000 square foot\u00a0library.\u00a0Chris has been a part of three library building projects during his time in Oklahoma,\u00a0including a $30 million, 50,000 square foot library, which will break ground in 2022.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Manna said he is looking forward to joining the Kennett Library and continuing the wonderful work that it does, but also to bringing some fresh ideas for programs and partnerships. \u201cLibraries play an important role in the community and all across the field of librarianship, we work to partner to raise the quality of life for everyone in our communities,\u201d\u00a0he said.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cWe are very excited about Chris\u2019s joining the Kennett Library team and getting him involved with our community.\u00a0He will be an asset to the current library and, most especially, to the new Kennett Library &amp; Resource Center, as its Director,\u201d Yetter said.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KENNETT SQUARE \u2014 The Kennett Library Board of Trustees has announced that it has hired Christopher Manna as the new director of the Kennett Library.
