Pennsylvania music makers, Lisa Bodnar and Whistlegrass have one mission: to provide concert events in all 67 PA counties to unite communities and help raise funds for those in need. These events are fundraisers for non-pro\ufb01t organizations whose work helps with one of the following community needs: Food Insecurity\/Homelessness, The Environment, Arts\/Education, and Emergency First Responders.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, October 26 Lisa and her musical group will perform a concert at The Creamery in Kennett Square. The event is a fundraiser being hosted by the United Way of Southern Chester County (UWSCC). All net proceeds from ticket sales from the event will bene\ufb01t UWSCC\u2019s OXFORD FIRE FUND, which provides ongoing direct services to our neighbors who were a\ufb00ected by the \ufb01re.<\/p>\n
Terry Vodery, the Director of UWSCC relayed the importance of this event: \u201cAfter a disaster, it takes time for people to get back on their feet. For those a\ufb00ected by September\u2019s tragic \ufb01re in Oxford, PA it may take a long time before things get back to normal. Our neighbors in Oxford will need food, health services, clothing, counseling, \ufb01nancial assistance, and other resources on an ongoing basis. Many thanks to Lisa Bodnar and Whistlegrass for joining with folks from all walks of life to lend a hand to those who need it most. This bene\ufb01t concert is going to provide resources, help and hope to our neighbors in Oxford. Together, we\u2019re standing by them to help rebuild what the \ufb01re has taken.<\/p>\n

A<\/span> singer-songwriter<\/span> and<\/span> DEKO<\/span> Entertainment <\/span>recording<\/span> artist<\/span> from<\/span> Pennsylvania\u2019s<\/span> Lehigh<\/span> Valley,<\/span> Lisa\u2019s<\/span> music<\/span> re\ufb02ects<\/span> the<\/span> resilience<\/span> and<\/span> optimism of<\/span> the<\/span> region.<\/span> Despite<\/span> personal<\/span> challenges,<\/span> including<\/span> home<\/span> destruction<\/span> from<\/span> \ufb02oods,<\/span> Lisa<\/span> has<\/span> stayed positive and channeled her experiences into her music. Her latest album, <\/span>40 Years in the Desert<\/i><\/span>, a collaboration<\/span> with<\/span> instrumentalist\/producer<\/span> from<\/span> Quito, Ecuador,<\/span> guitarist Dann<\/span> Araque, showcases her best work<\/span> with <\/span>Bodnar\u2019s unique vocal stylings and piano melodies pairing well with Araque\u2019s ear- candy guitar musings to yield a variety of styles and genres. Lisa, Dann, and other members of Whistlegrass, Lehigh Valley musicians have been playing benefit concerts in counties in Pennsylvania to raise money for non-profit organizations whose work improves the quality of life of Pennsylvanians. They are currently planning the next round of dates for 2024 in their PA67 county tour.
