Seniors were recognized during AGHS\u2019s Senior Awards Night with the official Seal of Biliteracy.<\/p><\/div>\n

Avon Grove School District celebrated 25 Avon Grove High School seniors who have earned the Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy\u2014a distinguished honor that recognizes students who demonstrate proficiency in English and at least one other world language.<\/p><\/div>\n

This achievement reflects each student\u2019s dedication to academic excellence, cultural understanding, and global citizenship. Established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Seal of Biliteracy affirms the importance of multilingualism in preparing students for college, career, and life in an increasingly connected world.<\/div>\n

\u201cThese students embody the Profile of a Future Ready Avon Grove Graduate,\u201d said Emlyn Frangiosa, supervisor of teaching and learning. \u201cThey have not only mastered multiple languages, but have also embraced a growth mindset and developed the skills needed to thrive in a global society. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishment and the dedication they\u2019ve shown throughout their academic journey.\u201d<\/div>\n

To earn the seal, students must demonstrate proficiency at the Intermediate High level or above in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in both English and a partner language using state-approved assessments. This year\u2019s recipients represent several different languages, reflecting the rich linguistic diversity of the Avon Grove student body.<\/div>\n

\u201cThe Pennsylvania Seal of Biliteracy is more than a recognition of language proficiency\u2014it is a testament to our students\u2019 commitment to excellence and their desire to engage with the world beyond our classrooms. We commend these seniors for their hard work and celebrate the opportunities their multilingual abilities will open in college, careers, and global communities,\u201d said Dr. Scott DeShong, superintendent of Avon Grove School District.<\/div>\n

Students were formally recognized during Avon Grove High School\u2019s Senior Awards Night, where they received an official seal on their diplomas and transcripts to mark this accomplishment.<\/div>\n
