{"id":44490,"date":"2025-07-04T08:36:53","date_gmt":"2025-07-04T12:36:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=44490"},"modified":"2025-07-04T08:36:54","modified_gmt":"2025-07-04T12:36:54","slug":"what-to-do-paranormal-cirque-continues-local-run-of-shows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/?p=44490","title":{"rendered":"What To Do: Paranormal\u00a0Cirque continues local run of shows"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"elementToProof\"><strong>By Denny Dyroff<\/strong>, <em>Entertainment Editor, The Times<\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-20684\" src=\"https:\/\/kennetttimes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/cirque.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"237\" height=\"300\" \/>The weekend obviously will get off with a bang this week with Fourth of July fireworks displays &#8212; and other Independence Day holiday celebrations &#8212; all around the area.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">But this is July and that means there is a slew of special events and annual traditions filling the calendar \u2013 events that have nothing to do with the Fourth of July holiday.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The intriguing Paranormal\u00a0Cirque\u00a0(<a id=\"OWAac110cec-b888-d8ec-edf0-a28bb957ce4c\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"https:\/\/paranormalcirque.com\/\">https:\/\/paranormalcirque.com<\/a>), which is intended for a mature audience, is in the middle of a month-and-a-half visit in the area.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The are four tour stops with Lancaster already in the rear-view mirror.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The circus visits Whitehall this weekend (July 4-7), Pottstown (July 11-13) and Dover, Delaware (July 18-20).<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">This weekend, the circus will set up camp at the Lehigh Valley Mall (250 Lehigh Valley Mall, Whitehall).<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Shows are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on July 4, 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. on July 5 and 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. on July 6.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Big Top\u2019s stop in Pottstown will be at Philadelphia Premium Outlets, which are located at 18 Lightcap Road.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">When the circus visits Delaware, it will take up residence in the parking lot at the Dover Mall, which is located at 1365 North Dupont Highway in Dover.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Paranormal\u00a0Cirque\u00a0will expose audiences to a unique creation of combined theatre, circus, and cabaret with a new European style flare.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">This innovative horror story, which is presented in true circus style under a Big Top tent, features different shades of sexy and an incomparable storyline. Audiences likely will find it difficult to separate reality from illusion at this show as they fall into a parallel world and end up surrounded by monstrous creatures with hidden talents.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Currently,\u00a0Paranormal\u00a0Cirque\u00a0has three tours running \u2013 Paranormal\u00a0Cirque, Paranormal\u00a0Cirque II and Paranormal\u00a0Cirque III. The Union commander at the battle, General Meade, Division Commander General Crawford, Confederates, and many other officers and enlisted men who participated now rest at Laurel Hill East.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The tour will also highlight the important roles played by volunteer nurses, surgeons, civilians, and supporters of the war effort, who likewise lie under Laurel Hill East\u2019s perpetual care.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Tour Guides are\u00a0Russ Dodge and Andy Waskie.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for Seniors (Ages 65+) and Students with ID and $8.50 for youth (ages 6-12).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">If you like to look at model railroad layouts, then you should definitely check out the Garden Railway Display at the Morris Arboretum &amp; Garden (100 Northwestern Avenue, Chestnut Hill,<a id=\"OWA97063114-4c37-a553-a3ff-8d18b6541ad0\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.morrisarboretum.org\/\">www.morrisarboretum.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The ultra-popular Garden Railway Display has become a major summer attraction at The Gardens at Morris Arboretum. The 26th annual edition of the display had its official season opening in late May and now will remain open until September 30.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">This summer, Morris Arboretum will unveil a brand-new exhibition in its popular Garden Railway \u2013\u00a0\u201cGarden Railway: Dinos!\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">With more than 15 different rail lines running along a third of a mile of track, visitors will enjoy a spectacular display of dinosaurs including\u00a0Triceratops, and\u00a0Velociraptor, as well as other Mesozoic creatures\u2014all made out of natural materials such as bark, leaves, and twigs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">As one of the largest outdoor miniature train displays in the United States, the Garden Railway will delight and amaze visitors of all ages.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The railway has a quarter mile of track featuring seven loops and tunnels with 15 different rail lines and two cable cars, nine bridges (including a trestle bridge you can walk under) and bustling model trains.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The buildings and the display are all made of natural materials \u2013 bark, leaves, twigs, hollow logs, mosses, acorns, dried flowers, seeds and stones \u2013 to form a perfectly proportioned miniature landscape complete with miniature rivers.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Philadelphia-area landmarks are all meticulously decorated for the holidays with lights that twinkle.\u00a0There is even a masterpiece replica of Independence Hall are made using pinecone seeds for shingles, acorns as finials and twigs as downspouts.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Visitors will be able to see miniature replicas of iconic structures at some of America\u2019s most famous public gardens including the Climatron at Missouri Botanical Garden, Torii Gate and Pavilion at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Science Pyramid at Denver Botanic Gardens, and so much more.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Admission is $20 for adults; $18 for seniors (65 and older); $10 for students (ages 13-17 or with ID), active military and retired military; and free for children (under 3).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">A sweet place to enjoy flowers in bloom is Tyler Arboretum (515 Painter Road, Media, 610-566-9134, <a id=\"OWAe64a6fb1-d5af-252b-cfe0-c629885e68de\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" title=\"Protected by Outlook: http:\/\/www.tylerarboretum.org\/. Click or tap to follow the link.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tylerarboretum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.tylerarboretum.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The arboretum\u2019s schedule for this weekend features the \u201cSaturday Wildflower Walk: Summer Edition\u201d at 1 p.m. on July 5.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">On Saturday, guests can join wildflower expert\u00a0Dick Cloud on an informative two-hour hike that takes them through meadows, woods, and occasionally streamside.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Although the focus is on plants, Cloud will talk about whatever participants might see while they are out.<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Admission to Tyler Arboretum is $18 for adults (ages 18-64), $15 for seniors (65 and older) and $10 for children (ages 3-17) and Military with valid ID.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The 2025 season is in full swing at Chanticleer (786 Church Street, Wayne, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chanticleergarden.org\/\">www.chanticleergarden.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Chanticleer estate dates from the early 20th-century, when land along the Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad was developed for summer homes to escape the heat of Philadelphia.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Adolph Rosengarten, Sr., and his wife Christine chose the Wayne-St. Davids area to build their country retreat. The family\u2019s pharmaceutical firm would become part of Merck &amp; Company in the 1920s.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Rosengartens hired architect and former classmate Charles L. Borie to design the house, which was completed in 1913. Landscape architect Thomas Sears designed the terraces as extensions of the house. A 1924 addition converted the summer home into a year-round residence and the family moved here permanently.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Admission to Chanticleer is $15 for adults and free for pre-teen children (12 years and under).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Andalusia Historic House, Gardens and Arboretum (1237 State Road, Andalusia, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.andalusiapa.org\/\">www.andalusiapa.org<\/a>) is located on a wooded promontory overlooking the Delaware River.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">It has been a stately presence on this stretch of water, just north of Philadelphia, for more than 200 years.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The ancestral home of the Biddle family, Andalusia\u00a0is\u00a0also a natural paradise of native woodlands and spectacular gardens that have evolved over time.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Placed on the National Register\u00a0of Historic Landmarks\u00a0in 1966, the Big House\u00a0&#8212; one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture in the United States &#8212; provides an unparalleled look into our nation&#8217;s past, while also offering a glimpse into the life\u00a0of\u00a0a family\u00a0that helped to shape its future.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Its surrounding gardens delight the senses all through the year, from the tumbling, brightly colored leaves of fall to the floral extravaganza of spring and the abundance and scent of summer.<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Self-Guided Garden Tours will be available Mondays through Wednesdays through November 4 (excluding holidays) at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Historic Odessa (Main Street, Odessa, Delaware, 302-378-4119, <a id=\"OWAb28b5f60-674f-4b55-82ed-363fa8c2cb88\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.historicodessa.org\/\">www.historicodessa.org<\/a>) is both a scenic and an historic site in Delaware.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">In 2009, the foundation\u2019s Corbit-Sharp House, a National Historic Landmark and a stop along the\u00a0Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway, was accepted into the National Underground\u00a0Railroad Network to Freedom by the National Park Service, which evaluated the site as \u201cmaking a significant contribution to the understanding of the Underground Railroad in American history.\u201d<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Odessa was a key player in the Underground Railroad both geographically on the border of freedom and in terms of its population of abolitionists.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Built in 1772 and one of Delaware\u2019s most historic homes and important examples of Georgian architecture, the Corbit-Sharp House is one of nine sites, two programs and two facilities in Delaware on the National Park Service\u2019s Network to Freedom.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Historic Odessa is open to the public from March through December, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1-4 p.m.\u00a0 The site is also open on Monday by reservation. General Admission: Adults, $10; Groups, Seniors, Students, $8; and Children under six are free.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">On July 6, the Marshall Steam Museum at Auburn Heights Preserve (3000 Creek Road, Yorklyn, Delaware, 302-239-2385, <a id=\"OWA8892ca1c-eb92-4587-5551-fac47642193e\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" title=\"Protected by Outlook: http:\/\/auburnheights.org\/. Click or tap to follow the link.\" href=\"http:\/\/auburnheights.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/auburnheights.org<\/a>) is presenting \u201cSteamin\u2019 Day at Auburn Heights.\u201d<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The site, which features the Marshall Steam Museum and the Auburn Heights Mansion, focuses on steam power when it presents \u201cSteamin\u2019 Days,\u201d which run from 12:30-4:30 p.m.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">General admission tickets\u00a0are $15 (13 and older) and $10 (age 12 and under). \u201cMansion Add On\u201d tickets are $8 and $4.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Also included is entry to the Marshall Steam Museum, which features the world\u2019s largest operating collection of Stanley steam cars along with a 1930s working Lionel electric train display, a hands-on engine display, kids\u2019 activities and exhibits.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Brandywine Valley has quite a few museums and tourist sites that provide both residents and tourists with diverse ways to spend leisure time.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">You can take advantage of these options with the 2025 Brandywine Treasure Trail Passport (<a id=\"OWA8c64cb43-7613-caba-0b0c-98cfe2fc7d9b\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.visitwilmingtonde.com\/passport\/\">www.visitwilmingtonde.com\/passport\/<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The cost is $49 for an individual pass and $99 for a family pass (for up to five family members).<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The Brandywine Treasure Trail Passport is good for one-time admission to Wilmington and Brandywine Valley\u2019s top attractions now through October 31.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">A family pass, which includes one-day admission to each of 12 sites, can bring a savings of more than $200 for the holders \u2014 especially since many of the participating institutions have regular admission fees in double figures.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The list of locations covered by the Brandywine Treasure Trail Passport includes Longwood Gardens, Delaware Museum of Nature and Science, Brandywine River Museum, Delaware Art Museum, Delaware History Museum, Hagley Museum and Library, Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts, Nemours Mansion &amp; Gardens, Read House and Garden, Mt. Cuba Center, Rockwood Museum and Winterthur Museum, Garden &amp; Library.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">A sure sign that summer is here is the \u201cFestival of Fountains\u201d at Longwood Gardens (Route 1, Kennett Square, <a id=\"OWA09058b1d-fae1-fb6d-708c-6a43d08842be\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/www.longwoodgardens.org\/\">www.longwoodgardens.org<\/a>).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The \u201cFestival of Fountains\u201d opened for the season on May 9 and will run until September 28.<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Longwood Gardens\u2019 Open Air Theatre and Italian Water Garden fountains has sprung to life as has the Square Fountain, Round Fountain (Flower Garden Walk), Sylvan Fountain (Peirce\u2019s Park), and Children\u2019s Corner fountains.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The season of renewal and growth has started. Dancing fountains, performances under the stars, and beautiful gardens make the Festival of Fountains at Longwood Gardens magical.<\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The spectacular celebration of music, light, water, and nature includes distinctive garden experiences indoors and out.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Before the fountain performances, guests can sit under the stars and enjoy live music and refreshing brews and pub fare in Longwood\u2019s Beer Garden. Other dining options at Longwood are 1906 Fine Dining and The Caf\u00e9.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">As the season unfolds, flowering trees delightfully punctuate the landscape, radiant tulips stretch toward the sun, and the delicious fragrance of wisteria floats along the breeze.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Visitors can also enjoy special exhibits at the Orchid House.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">Admission to Longwood Gardens is $35 for adults, $31 for seniors and college students, $26 for active military and $20 for youth.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"elementToProof\">The 2025 season is underway at Nemours Estate (1600 Rockland Road, Wilmington, Delaware, <a id=\"OWA93612bca-d6e2-8ebb-fa36-71ae64359e74\" class=\"OWAAutoLink\" href=\"http:\/\/nemoursestate.org\/\">nemoursestate.org<\/a>).
